A single cask Loch Lomond Inchmurrin 2011 13-year-old Highland single malt whisky bottled in 2024 without colouring or chill filtration by Hannah Whisky Merchants for their Lady of the Glen range. This 13-year-old Inchmurrin 2011 began life in a hogshead cask before being transferred for finishing in a first fill ex-madeira cask. Cask 711 turned out 200 bottles at a natural cask strength of 55.7%. Inchmurrin is Loch Lomond's unpeated spirit, which usually combines very nicely with a fruity dessert wine like madeira - this should be a treat. |

Nose: An enticing bouquet of tropical fruits greets the senses—notes of ripe peach, apricot, and mango intertwine with hints of honey and vanilla. The influence of the Madeira cask adds layers of sweet raisin, caramelized sugar, and a touch of toasted almonds. Subtle floral undertones and a hint of citrus zest enhance the aromatic profile. Palate: The palate is vibrant and fruity, showcasing the signature light and fruity style of Inchmurrin. Flavors of juicy pear, green apple, and melon are complemented by the rich sweetness from the Madeira cask finish. Notes of honeyed sultanas, toffee, and a gentle spice of cinnamon and nutmeg emerge, adding depth and complexity. The mouthfeel is smooth and medium-bodied, with a delightful balance of sweetness and subtle oak influence. Finish: A satisfying, medium-length finish leaves lingering notes of sweet dried fruits, soft oak, and a hint of spice. The fruity character gradually fades, leaving a pleasant aftertaste of vanilla and a touch of chocolate. |
