In 1878, due to the success of the Dew of Ben Nevis blend, a second distillery named Nevis was built. The two distilleries operated together before merging in 1908. Aged in a cask that previously held a wine from the Montravel appellation, this high-proof version echoes cask #202 from our catalog “À la Conquête des origines.” Indeed, it carries the same sensation of deep maturity and indulgence, with more pronounced peaty accents. The labels of the Artist Collective 7.0 range are illustrated by German visual artist Katrin Bremermann, whose works explore universal concepts of form, proportion, rhythm, and structure. This new artistic collaboration was made possible with the assistance of the Beaux Arts Institute, a leader in innovative artistic partnerships. The label of this Ben Nevis 2016 Aged 8 Years is illustrated by artwork No. 2410 by Katrin Bremermann. |

Tasting Notes |
Nose : Rich, deep. Immediately, dry peat, toffee, orange zest, chocolate shards, a few grains of salt, and roasted nuts highlight the complexity of the aromatic palette. Earthy, it evolves toward increasingly heady notes (iris, hyacinth). Palate : Clear, full of tension. Peppery and spicy (paprika), the flavor palette oscillates between notes of candied pear, apricot, and citrus (grapefruit). Tenderly malty and ashy, it then takes on a more exotic (persimmon) and mentholated character. Finish : Long, fluffy. The tasting lingers on dark chocolate notes that envelop a more subdued peat. Then, fine flavors of tobacco and candied ginger gradually permeate an atmosphere that is both heady (lily) and indulgent (Vosges candy). |
