With Halloween coming up soon, here are some interesting cocktails that you can trick or treat your friends with!
Halloween season
It's the time of the year where trick and treating are commonplace; though... that's not the case in Singapore.
However, that doesn't mean that you cannot treat yourself this Halloween season!
We scoured the internet for the best Halloween-themed cocktails for all the alcoholics (liquor connoisseurs) out there looking for yet another excuse for a glass.
These are perfect for any gatherings whilst being relatively easy to whip up.
This cocktail is definitely one that you should include in a party. When shone with a black light, it actually glows in the dark!
Ingredients (1 serving):
- 90ml Hendricks Gin
- 45ml lemon juice
- 5ml Grenadine
- Ice
- Tonic water for topping off
Steps:
1) Mix the Hendricks gin, lemon juice and grenadine in a cocktail shaker
2) Pour the mix into a tall glass filled with ice
3) Top off the cocktail with tonic water
4) For an added touch, you can garnish the cocktail with a glow stick
Nothing screams Halloween more than this dark, mysterious & delicious cocktail shot made with Jell-O and vodka.
Ingredients (24 shots):
- 2 packets of purple Jell-O
- 2 sets of 230ml boiling water
- 2 sets of 230ml Absolut vodka
- Black food coloring
- Lime wedges (for garnish)
- Black sanding sugar (for garnish)
- 24 shot glasses
Steps:
1) Whisk purple Jell-o package with one set of boiling water until dissolved then whisk in vodka into the mix
2) Fill shot glasses halfway with mixture then refrigerate the glasses for 3 hours
3) Whisk second package of Jell-o mix with hot water, vodka and black food coloring before pouring the mixture equally into the shot glasses
4) Return the shot glasses back to the refrigerator for another 2-3 hours for it to firm up
5) Once firm, rim each shot glass with lime and dip in black sanding sugar
A classic cocktail in a fitting Halloween outfit! These syringes will definitely fit right in at any Halloween party!
Ingredients (24 Syringes):
- 2 cups of 230ml tomato juice
- 240 ml of Absolut Vodka
- 30ml Worcestershire sauve
- 15g horseradish
- 30ml Tabasco
- Half a lemon
- Freshly ground black pepper
Steps:
1) Combine all the ingredient in a large mixing bowl and mix until consistent
2) Fill each syringe roughly up to half full and serve cold
Pumpkins are a must when it comes to Halloween— check out this pumpkin rendition of the Old Fashioned that is perfect for sipping.
Ingredients (1 serving):
- 30ml Jack Daniel's bourbon
- Pumpkin puree
- 10ml pure maple syrup
- Dash of pumpkin pie spice
- Vanilla
- Rosemary branch (garnish)
- Orange peel (garnish)
Steps:
1) Mix all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker, this is necessary to integrate the pumpkin puree into the cocktail
2) Strain the mix into an ice-filled glass
3) Garnish with rosemary branch and orange to evoke the colors of a pumpkin!
This is the most realistic-looking cocktail of the bunch and will surely cause others to cast a second glances at their glasses to make sure that it is indeed a cocktail.
Ingredients (1 serving):
- 150ml red wine (we used Roma Rosso red wine)
- 2-3 Lychees with seed
- Eyeball design candy (to substitute lychees)
- Gel red food coloring (for added realism!)
Steps:
1) Pour red wine into a wine glass
2) Slowly add gel red food coloring into the red wine and mix until desired viscosity
3) Dunk lychees or eyeball design candies into the mix and serve
