This year, Port Askaig presents us with a complex and indulgent Caol Ila composed of 3 American hogshead casks distilled in 2012 and a new oak cask distilled in 2010. An exclusive experiment by Oliver Chilton, master blender at Elixir Distillers, Port Askaig Nouvelle Vague takes inspiration from the 1960s movement that shook up the French cinema industry. The key element of this movement is the new oak cask, which imparts an astonishingly indulgent and rich profile to this wonderful peated malt. It’s an unprecedented character for Port Askaig. |
