LMDW presents two cuvées with French accents for its Islay Selection 2022. This small batch comes from a blend of very gourmet ex-bourbon, Oloroso and Sauternes casks. It is a tasty marriage of citrus and peat smoke, the signature of Kilchoman single malts, and notes of apricots, honey and white grapes from ex-Casches of Sauternes. |

Nose : Expressive and intense, Kilchoman does not deviate from its style with notes of hay, saline peat and tobacco. However, we discover another more round and oily palette with in particular notes of honey and orange zest which come perfectly balanced with a suave and complex nose. Palate : Chocolatey and floral. The freshness of the peat disappears quickly to take us to the kingdom of chocolate with notes of bitter cocoa and dark chocolate while having fruity (apricot, white grapes) and floral notes brought by the barrel of Sauternes. Finish : Long and smooth. The finish lets the bitterness of the chocolate be replaced by notes of liquorice. |
