Chichibu Paris Edition 2024 is a tribute to Paris and Tokyo’s most beautiful monuments. Six expressions, labeled with traditional Japanese washi paper, explore the buildings that have come to symbolise their respective cities. In this game of mirrors, the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and Notre-Dame Cathedral are contrasted against the Tokyo Tower, the Meiji Jingu Gate and the Tokyo Imperial Palace. Paris Edition 2024 is composed of a vatting of 12 bourbon barrels, two quarter casks (chibidaru) and a red wine cask with an average age of six to seven years. This edition’s bold character is equally elegant and fresh. An ever-more subtle peat sets the tone for a tasting whose complexity and breadth simply keeps evolving and increasing. Revisit Paris & Tokyo’s architectural heritage through this limited release! |

Nose : Lively, creamy. On the first nose, a light peat interacts with delicious lemon, menthol, and vanilla aromas. As it opens, exotic fruits (banana, pineapple) take center stage. Then, herbal infusions (verbena, bay leaf) refresh the aromatic palette. Palate : Taut, refined. Vegetal (dry grass, cut hay), the initial palate also displays peppery notes. Flavors of wet earth form the foundation of the gustatory profile. The tasting continues with delectable notes of toasted bread and dried fruits (chestnut, date). Finish : Long, full-bodied. At the start of the finish, coconut milk spreads across the palate. Then, flavors of candied pear and rosemary create a particularly well-balanced sequence. The vibrant finish is spicy (cardamom, clove, fresh ginger). |
